Beeeeeer! Cheeeers!

Beer does not have much of a foot print. around 800g of CO2! http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/green-living-blog/2010/jun/04/carbon-footprint-beer).

Bear with me!

It’s not jus about carbon foot print but also about drunken driving, the act which has contributed significantly for India to seize No 1 rank in the world on account of road accidents (http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,,5519345,00.html)

In recent times, “drinking” seems to have become the one & only “weekend plan option” and the very meaning of “having fun”. Economic liberalization, more money…more spending power have set a trend that justifies the “drunkenness” of gen-next as “to burn out the too much” they earn…

To state it on a lighter vein….they continues to bestow Mr Vijayamalya to go on with his race for world’s richest men list.

Though we live in an era which relates anything and everything to climate change & carbon foot print, there are things to which we learn to “call a spade a spade”! without linking it to higher value systems like….leaving lesser ecological foot prints.

Interesting Point.. Here are a few ideas on "Non-Drinking" ways of having a good time - esp between 8-12 pm.. cos thats when most of the drinking + driving seems to be happening:
1. Hang out @ someone's place to watch a movie.. play scrabble/scotland yard/monopoly? + make maggi
2. @Krishna Venkataramani's idea: Drive to places to do night photography & listen to good musiv in the car
3. Do a campfire @ a place outside the city.. can use Beer to fuel the fire!
4. Everyone plan and go to sleep early to go for an early morning drive to watch sunrise at the broken bridge
Any other people???

How about suddenly realising at 9:30 PM on a saturday evening tht u want to have beer , but by then all the tasmac shops are closed .... so we try going to guindy and even there because of the change in the govt there has been an order to stop sellin alcohol , so we come back to Twilight to order some food , he then gives us a discounted bill .. and then we go to ur terrace to find out tht u have only brandy which none of us drink ... so we all come back home sober but happy at 2 PM and still have our thayir saadam !
